The Pennsylvania Association of Floodplain Managers is a statewide organization of floodplain managers, engineers, planners, local, state, and federal officials, and water resource professionals.

The mission of PAFPM is to:

  • promote public awareness of integrated floodplain management,

  • serve as a liaison between individuals and groups concerned with floodplain management, and to keep those individuals and groups well informed through educational and professional seminars,

  • and inform concerned individuals and groups of pending floodplain management legislation, regulation, and related matters in order to advance the effective implementation of floodplain management.

Call for Abstracts - Due June 29th

PAFPM invites a broad range of submissions for 30-minute sessions, 1-2 hour interactive workshops, posters, and/or field trip suggestions/offers that highlight lessons learned, best practices, and innovative approaches related to managing and communicating flood risk.

New this year! PAFPM invites undergraduate, master’s and PhD students to submit their research for the Conference Poster Session. Posters will be evaluated, and top submissions will receive prizes, including registration for the 2027 ASFPM Conference in Pittsburgh or cash awards.
